The Founder's Story

My journey with Rudraksha and Shaligram began long before Gem Shakti was founded.

Growing up near the sacred Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, I was naturally exposed to the traditions and culture of Sanatan Dharma from a young age. Unlike many people assume, I did not come from a particularly religious family. My interest in spirituality developed through personal curiosity and a desire to understand the traditions that surrounded me.

As a child, I wore Rudraksha and was fascinated by the significance people attached to these sacred items. However, I also noticed something that concerned me. I often saw spiritual products being treated as ordinary commodities, with authenticity taking a back seat to appearance and marketing. This sparked many questions in my mind.

A Turning Point at Pashupatinath

At the age of sixteen, I began volunteering at Pashupatinath Temple. There, I met devotees from Nepal, India, and many other parts of the world. While volunteering, I observed that many sincere seekers struggled to find reliable information about Rudraksha, Shaligram Shila, and other sacred traditions. I also witnessed instances where people unknowingly purchased products that were not what they had been promised.

Wanting to understand these traditions more deeply, I began studying the original scriptures and Puranas rather than relying solely on information available online. I spent years learning about Rudraksha, Shaligram Shila, and the spiritual traditions associated with them through scriptural study, guidance from knowledgeable mentors, and practical experience.

One conversation during my time at Pashupatinath left a lasting impression on me. I met a doctor visiting from India who had purchased a Rudraksha that was later discovered to be inauthentic. What stayed with me was not the financial loss he experienced, but the disappointment he felt after placing trust in something that was misrepresented. During our conversation, he remarked that there should be more people dedicated to providing authentic spiritual items and honest guidance.

That conversation stayed with me.

The Mission Behind Gem Shakti

Over time, I realized that the challenge was not only the availability of authentic products but also the growing amount of misinformation surrounding them. Many people genuinely wanted to learn, but reliable information was often difficult to find.

What began as personal curiosity gradually became a mission.

After spending more than six years studying and working closely with these traditions, I founded Gem Shakti in 2024 with a simple goal: to make authentic Rudraksha and Shaligram accessible to sincere seekers while promoting accurate knowledge and preserving the traditions from which they originate.

Today, Gem Shakti sources authentic Rudraksha from Nepal’s Arun Valley and Shaligram Shila from the sacred Gandaki region. Beyond providing authentic sacred items, our mission is to help devotees better understand the traditions, significance, and proper care associated with them.

A Vision for the Future

Alongside this journey, I have been fortunate to receive recognition as the Global Student Entrepreneur Nepal 2025 winner and to participate in international initiatives such as UNCTAD’s eTrade for Women. However, the achievement I value most is the trust that devotees place in us every day.

My vision for Gem Shakti is simple: to build a trusted home for authentic spiritual treasures, preserve traditional knowledge, support source communities, and help seekers around the world connect with the rich heritage of Sanatan Dharma.

What started as a teenager’s curiosity at Pashupatinath has grown into a lifelong commitment to authenticity, education, and service.
